Admissions Checklist

The following items must be presented at the time of testing. Any missing documents will delay admissions. You will be notified of acceptance with in [5] days of testing.
 

1.Completed Application with application fee of $75.00

2.Testing Fee of $50.00

3.Current Report Card/Transcript to include Discipline Report

4.Birth Certificate

5.South Carolina Immunization Record

6.If being admitted during a school year, check-out sheet with current grades and discipline report.

Admissions Requirements

Thomas Heyward Academy is a tax exempt institution with a non‑discriminatory admissions policy.

 

1.  A child must be 5 years old before September 1st to enter the K5 Kindergarten.

2. All students are required to have up‑to‑date South Carolina Immunization Certificates before entering THA.

3. Applicants are required to take an entrance test at the discretion of the Headmaster. Student acceptance and assignment is the responsibility of the Headmaster or Division Heads.

4. Transfer students will be accepted at the discretion and evaluation of the Headmaster or Division Heads.

5. The family must be able to meet the financial requirements of the Academy.

6. A genuine agreement on the part of the student to comply with the rules and regulations, particularly those regarding dress and conduct, is required.

7. All applications will be taken on a first come‑first served basis, after Academy families have had time to register. When classes reach capacity, the Headmaster has the right to admit the most qualified student regardless of their place on the waiting list.

8. Registration fees hold a student's place if they are promoted. If a student fails, the Academy is not obligated to lake that student back. The registration fee will not be refunded if a student is not promoted.
