Thomas Heyward Academy serves approximately 325 students on a close-knit, supportive campus where children are truly known. For more than 55 years, THA has been dedicated to educating the whole child. Grounded in our core values, we offer a rigorous academic program alongside a wide range of athletic, artistic, and extracurricular opportunities designed to prepare students for success in college and in life.

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year opens February 15, 2026. Contacting Admissions is the first step in the process, and we encourage families to begin early. Space is limited, and applications are reviewed on a rolling, first-come basis. We recommend starting the admissions process even if you have not yet attended a tour or open house.

While mid-year enrollment may be available depending on class openings, many grades—particularly Preschool—often reach capacity and may have waitlists. Families seeking enrollment for the current or upcoming school year are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
