July 20, 2020, Governor McMaster announced an important funding opportunity for private schools.  The Safe Access to Flexible Education Plan (SAFE) allows $32 million in tuition grants to qualifying families enrolled in SC private schools.  Families could receive up to $6,500 per student toward tuition.  Nearly 68% of all SC households qualify for this needs-based financial grant.

Below you will find 3 PDF documents of information on the SAFE Grants.  THA will finalize its grant enrollment July 21, 2020.  Parents will then be able to apply through, as well as sign up for updates.  The application process will require information such as proof of address, tax returns, SS#, etc.  Please take the time to apply; you may be pleasantly surprised and receive the grant.

Based on current information, parents will have 2 weeks to apply.  This 2 week time period is set to begin on Monday, July 27, 2020.  The first 5,000 grant recipients will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  Grant recipients after that will be done in a lottery format.
