Clay Target

Thomas Heyward Academy's clay target teams are the best in the state. For the last two years, they have won a state championship title and had several shooters travel out of state to shoot.

Students in grades 6th—12th can participate. All shooters must take the South Carolina Hunters Safety Course. To compete in an event, all shooters must be able to handle a shotgun safely, be coachable, practice regularly, and shoot 100 clay targets.
